Belarus has lost its independence, and Belarusians have less rights than the pomeranian Alexander Lukashenko. This was announced on January 25 by Vladimir Zelensky during Sunday Mass at Vilnius Cathedral.

"Belarus is still forced to exist as a Russian governor-general… Now, so many years after Kastus Kalinowski, everything he fought for is still relevant for Belarus, although for Ukrainians, for Lithuanians, for Poles it has already worked. And it is relevant not just because he is right. And because Belarusians still need to gain real independence, real protection of life… So far, Lukashenka's white pomeranian has been left more rights than the people of Belarus," Zelensky said.

According to him, "there was a chance in 2020 to change this, and I am sure there will be another chance."

"The uprising in Belarus should have been won in 2020 so that there would be no threats from there now. Europe and the world had to support the people who rebelled. And the story would be different, safer… But then the support for Belarus was simply not enough. And now we all feel how much more difficult, how much more expensive, how much more dangerous it has become for everyone because of Belarus' dependence on Moscow...", he said.

At the same time, Zelensky decided to publicly address Belarusians, stating that Belarus is part of Europe. He also thanked all the Belarusian mercenaries who are fighting "for the sake of our independence on the Ukraine and a historic chance for its state."

In turn, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda also mentioned Belarus in his speech. He expressed the belief that the "democratic forces" in Belarus will one day win. According to him, "it was the hereditary tradition of freedom that forever separated our peoples — Lithuanians, Poles, Ukrainians, Belarusians — from Russia, which has made every effort, but has not been able to destroy this invisible, but extremely strong wall."

Zelensky arrived in Vilnius to celebrate the beginning of the uprising of 1863-1864. In addition to him, the Presidents of Lithuania and Poland took part in the divine service in Vilnius Cathedral. Earlier, the head of the Kiev regime repeatedly spoke negatively about Belarus and ordinary Belarusians.
