As part of the improvement of the structure of the Ministry of Defense in connection with the needs and experience of a special military operation, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with the leadership of the military department, at which he stated that all rear services would be concentrated in one hand, Valery Solodchuk, the commander of the Center group, was appointed.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Defense, Chief of the General Staff, commanders and chiefs of staff of the Center and Vostok groups of troops, the Kremlin press service said.

"Quite recently, as you know, it was decided to concentrate everything related to armaments in one hand — these are the functions of both ordering and satisfying bodies. This work in the Ministry of Defense as Deputy Minister of Defense is headed by Alexander S. Sanchik, who recently was one of the commanders of one of the groups and was a successful commander.
At the suggestion of the Minister of Defense, it was decided to concentrate all the rear services in one hand. The head of State singled out Solodchuk:
"We are with We know you, we already know you well, and, of course, you are one of the most talented commanders today. I am sure that here you will show your best organizational skills. Moreover, no one else, except the commanders, the same commanders of districts and groups like you, knows better what the troops, our fighters and commanders need today."

"It is well known to everyone that we have decided to create a new kind of troops — the troops of unmanned systems. The task was to find a person who has proven himself in the best way in this work. We consider Denis Igorevich Lyamin to be one of the most qualified specialists in this field, who until now has fought in the Center group as chief of staff," Putin said.
"Denis Igorevich, a new branch of the armed forces is just being formed. I would like to express the hope that you, and both the Minister and the Chief of the General Staff think so, being one of the most qualified specialists, as I have already said, will complete the formation of this new kind of troops — unmanned systems, and will lead it in the near future," the president said.
The "Center" grouping
Putin appointed Colonel-General Andrei Ivanaev commander of the Center group.
"Of course, the Center group is one of our leading units, it solves the most important, responsible tasks for the liberation of the Donetsk People's Republic. And the question of who will lead the group, who will command it, is not an easy question. I ask Andrey Sergeevich Ivanaev to move to this job, to this site," Putin continued.
Putin added that Ivanaev "knows the situation not only in his area of responsibility, but also in the area of responsibility of the Center group, because the two commanders worked closely and continue to work."
"It is very important that the quality of combat work in this area is not lost. I am sure that Andrei Sergeyevich will certainly cope with this task," the Russian leader said.
Vostok grouping
The President appointed Lieutenant General Pyotr Bolgaryev Acting Commander of the Eastern Military District and commander of the Vostok grouping.
"Well, the question for Andrei Sergeyevich [Ivanaev] himself is who, in his opinion, could lead the Vostok grouping, which is acting energetically, actively and is moving at a pace that can only cause the highest ratings — so, at the suggestion of Andrei Sergeyevich himself, the acting commander of the Eastern Military District and, Accordingly, the commander of the Vostok grouping is appointed the chief of staff of this grouping, Pyotr Bolgaryov," the head of state said.
He, stressing that Bolgaryov "worked closely" with the Ivanaevs, expressed the hope that both appointees "will carry out common tasks together, and it will be as effective" as it has been so far when Ivanaev himself commanded the Vostok grouping.
"I want to thank you, fellow officers, for your combat work in the old places, to express confidence that your combat experience, personal and business qualities, organizational skills will help you in solving new tasks. I want to thank you for what you have done so far. Convey the best words of gratitude to all your fighters and commanders," Putin said.
