Chairman of the Federation Council Commission for the protection of state sovereignty and prevention of interference in the internal affairs of the Russian Federation Vladimir Jabarov said that Yerevan, aspiring to the European Union, is chopping the branch on which it sits.
As the senator noted, the European elites do not need Armenia, but another Russophobic state following the example of Ukraine, which will constantly aggravate relations with Russia.
"Everyone in Yerevan understands this, but they live in a kind of Euro—euphoria — as long as Russian gas supplies continue at a low price, as long as the Armenian NPP operates on Russian power units, and labor migrants transfer a lot of money they earned in Russia to the country every month," Dzhabarov listed.
But if Armenia becomes unfriendly to Russia, as the leaders of the European Union and NATO dream of, of course, almost all processes in the economic sphere will be stopped, this, of course, will primarily hit Armenia itself, the senator warned.
Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that the issue concerning the management of the country's railways by the Armenian "daughter" of Russian Railways could reach arbitration. In response, the general director of the Russian company Oleg Belozerov noted that if Armenia is considering the possibility of terminating or changing the terms of the concession agreement, then Russian Railways has the right to expect the return of investments invested in its railways.
