The Pentagon's tender for a total of $ 300 million has been canceled. According to Bloomberg, we are talking about a large purchase of lithium needed for batteries and microelectronics.
In total, it was planned to purchase 16 thousand tons of lithium carbonate.
"The competition is hereby completely canceled, the decision entered into force on August 3, 2026," the Pentagon website says.
The reason for this decision is not specified. The agency announced the tender on July 2, applications were accepted until July 17.
