The leader of the Fair Russia party and the head of the faction of the same name in the State Duma, Sergei Mironov, has come up with another pension initiative.
He proposed to fix in the law the norm according to which the old-age insurance pension cannot be lower than 40% of the average earnings for the last year before retirement.
According to RIA Novosti, the relevant bill may be submitted to the House of Parliament on Tuesday, August 4.
"The draft law proposes to establish a normative definition of the replacement rate of lost earnings as the ratio of the established size of the old—age insurance pension to the average salary of the insured person for 12 calendar months preceding retirement," the publication says.
It is noted that in the event that the assigned pension is below the specified threshold, the pensioner will be entitled to an additional payment, due to which the amount of payments will reach 40 percent of the lost earnings.
Earlier, EADaily reported that a bill was submitted to the State Duma on the abolition of pension reform and the return of the previous retirement age. This was announced by the leader of the Fair Russia party, Sergei Mironov.
