An unpleasant factor: The bottleneck of Ukrainian logistics has been found in Russia

In order to cause significant damage to Ukrainian logistics, it is necessary to hit the border checkpoints. This was stated in his telegram channel by the head of the Center for the Study of Military and Political Conflicts, Andrei Klintsevich.

According to him, a bridge, a railway section or a highway can be restored, a temporary crossing can be established, and vehicles can be bypassed. Although it is expensive, but in most cases the route can be saved.

"Everything is different with checkpoints. This is not just a barrier on the road. There are customs, border guards, inspection sites, communication and control systems, premises for cargo clearance. Without all this infrastructure, the flow across the border does not pass normally… By itself, one closed crossing will not bring down all logistics, but with regular strikes, the effect will begin to accumulate," the expert writes.

According to him, the route through Moldova and Romania is especially important, since it is one of the channels connecting Ukraine with the European transport network, through which military cargoes go.

"If the attacks on the checkpoint become systemic, the West, of course, will look for workarounds. But transportation will become longer, more expensive and less predictable. And for the army, which largely depends on the constant supply of ammunition, equipment and fuel, even delays of several days can make a difference. That is why pressure on the border infrastructure may turn out to be one of the most unpleasant factors for Ukrainian military logistics," Klintsevich sums up.
