On May 29, Syria recognized Abkhazia’s sovereignty and independence, the Abkhaz foreign minister Daur Kove has announced.
“I congratulate all of us! There is no better gift on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the Day of Victory and Independence!” the minister posted in Facebook.
This year, it will be ten years since Russia recognized independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. The republics were recognized by Nicaragua, Venezuela and some Pacific states.
