In the east of Moscow, a collapse occurred at school No. 1080, as a result of which two people were killed. Fortunately, there were no students at the school - it was under reconstruction.
This was reported on Saturday, September 20 by the TASS news agency, citing a source in the operational services. He said that the collapse affected four floors of the building.
"As a result of the collapse at school No. 1080 on Znamenskaya Street, two workers were killed, another is under the rubble," the source said.
The workers carried out repair work in the school building, which is located at the address — Znamenskaya 14/4. To date, an official comment has been received from the press service of the Moscow Emergencies Ministry.
"Concrete slabs collapsed on Znamenskaya Street in a non-residential building under reconstruction. Fire and rescue units recovered the bodies of two workers. All services are in place," the statement said.
The causes of the incident are being established.
Earlier, EADaily reported that in the city of Angarsk, Irkutsk region, a gas explosion occurred in a residential five-story building. A state of emergency (emergency) was introduced in the settlement.
