Britain faces collapse: Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland demand independence

The first ministers of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are planning to sign a joint declaration at a meeting planned in the near future, demanding from London the right to hold referendums on independence. It is reported by the British newspaper Telegraph.

According to the publication, the signing should take place on Monday at a meeting of representatives of historically Celtic regions in the Welsh capital Cardiff.

"The leaders of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will meet on Monday to sign an agreement that will launch the process of separating the UK… The three first ministers will sign a joint declaration demanding the right to hold referendums for independence", the report says.

It is noted that the meeting is designed to put pressure on British Prime Minister Andy Burnham against the background of his recent statement about the possible holding of a referendum on Scottish independence if the population supports this proposal. After the meeting, at which it is planned to sign a memorandum of understanding involving cooperation between the parties, the first ministers will also hold a press conference.

" The agreement will cover four areas: economy, energy, Europe and international cooperation, self-determination. All three parties will agree that their countries should be in the European Union, Scotland and Wales as new members, and Northern Ireland as part of the Republic of Ireland", the Telegraph says.

The publication notes that the memorandum of understanding will also oblige them to strengthen relations with European "neighbors" in preparation for self-determination.

Recall that after the regional elections in May, all three autonomous regions of Britain were headed by pro-independence parties. After that, the Scottish Parliament supported the call of local authorities to hold a referendum on independence. Earlier, the Office of the Prime Minister of Great Britain announced that the Prime Minister will hold a summit with Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland in October.
