Iran was ready to strike at three regions of Ukraine after the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked a merchant ship in the Caspian Sea. This was stated in an interview with Iranian media by senior military adviser to the supreme leader, General Mohsen Rezai.
"We were ready to strike at three regions of Ukraine, but after they stated that the attack was committed by mistake, we suspended the response to verify their statement," Rezai said, quoted by ParsToday Russian."
In any case, Ukraine must bear the consequences for the attack, the general added.
