In the city of Pattaya on the eastern coast of the Gulf of Thailand, local residents were detained who confessed to the murder of two Russians — brother and sister Nazimov. They called the reason for the murder the desire to own a moped.
Diana, 22, and her younger brother Roman, 17, disappeared in Pattaya in the early morning of July 26. They suddenly left home on a scooter at 4 a.m. local time (08.00 Moscow time). 20 minutes after that, an SMS message from Diana, consisting only of the word Urgent! ("Urgent"), came to the phone of their mother, who was in Bangkok at that moment. Then the connection was cut off.
Later, the police found a surveillance video recording showing that the brother and sister left the village where their family lives on the highway. The Honda ADV 150 Nazimov motorcycle was found on July 29 buried in a forest 200 meters from the highway near a small village.
The detainees, who have only recently been released from prison, admitted that they shot their brother and sister, the newspaper Thairat reports.
"We will provide all necessary assistance to the mother of the murdered Russians," said Ilya Ilyin, head of the consular department of the Russian Embassy in Thailand.
