Only Russia can be the guarantor of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. This was stated today, August 20, by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
"The only guarantor of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine has been and can be only Russia. This has been repeatedly emphasized by Russian President Vladimir Putin," the diplomat said at a briefing.
Zakharova also stressed that "the West does not need Ukraine either as an independent or as a prosperous state."
"If they needed her in this capacity, they would have done exactly the opposite," she added.
"Judging by the course of the West in recent years, Ukraine is not needed even in principle as a state. The interest of the West in Ukraine is purely utilitarian. It is considered as a territory for the neocolonial exploitation of resources and utilization of the local population in the furnace of the geopolitical conflict against Russia. It is needed as a springboard for the permanent projection of threats against us, and the ultimate goal is obvious: to try to weaken Russia by exsanguinating Ukraine," the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
In this regard, she pointed out that any resource is exhausted, and "the future of the neo-Nazi Kiev regime is absolutely already predetermined, but the West does not care about all this."
