Moscow hopes that the new UN Secretary General will work to correct the monstrous mistakes of the current head of the organization, Antonio Guterres. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova today, August 20.
"We expect that the future head of the secretariat will carry out thorough work to correct the monstrous mistakes of Antonio Guterres, his so—called team, as a result of which the UN has really plunged into crisis," she said during a briefing.
According to Zakharova, the UN can become a tool that will effectively direct the efforts of the international community in finding solutions to global problems, provided there is well-coordinated cooperation between the permanent members of the Security Council. Now there is a need for a certain shake-up for the UN bureaucracy.
