Prices for hairdressing services in Germany are breaking records. Moreover, women pay more than men, the prices for coloring and highlighting have increased the most. Gives details Gazeta.Pl .

Prices in German hairdressers continue to rise, and the difference in offers is increasing. On average, women pay about 54 euros for washing, haircuts and styling, while men pay about 33 euros, according to a study by the Association of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists of North Rhine—Westphalia. A simple haircut is still cheaper, but coloring and highlighting showed the greatest increase in prices.

According to a representative YouGov survey, 28% of Germans spend between 15 and 29 euros on a haircut, 20% from 30 to 49 euros, and 14% even more. Only 8% of respondents pay less than 15 euros, and 26% do not spend anything at all. The survey was conducted at the end of October among approximately 2,900 adult participants.

The increase in prices in hairdressers is primarily due to an increase in the cost of labor, energy costs and materials, as well as general inflation, which is emphasized by the Central Union of Hairdressing Crafts of Germany. Holger Stein, managing director of the organization, also noted that many salons are experiencing a constant shortage of skilled workers. In practice, more than half of the industry's expenses (55-60%) are accounted for by staff salaries.

Many hairdressers note that customers are becoming more price sensitive.

"Customers continue to cut costs, which reduces the attendance of many salons," said one of the specialists.

The industry's recent revenue growth has been driven primarily by price increases. Last year, it was predicted that the total profit of the hairdressing sector would reach 7.67 billion euros. According to Stein, in 2025 it may be slightly lower. Companies expect a decrease in the number of customers and the volume of orders.
