Russia itself will decide which ships and where will be responsible for piracy and robbery of the West. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with Vesti.
According to Lavrov, Russian President Vladimir Putin explained everything very clearly.
"Putin very clearly, soberly said that we will respond to this robbery, this piracy in a mirror way. But not necessarily in the same waters where these "newly minted peacekeepers" will commit their lawlessness. We will choose the goals ourselves. And the targets will be ships that work in the interests of countries that have proclaimed robbery and piracy as their official policy. We will decide how to deal with these vessels," Lavrov said, quoted by TASS.
Brussels has embarked on a very dangerous path, the minister noted.
"The European Union decided to apply its own law — if you can call Brussels' illegal decision a law — which was to limit Russia's ability to earn money on world markets. And all vessels that do not obey the European Union, under any flag, are declared a shadow fleet. This is a very dangerous path," Lavrov warned.
As EADaily reported, Putin's statement on the Varyag cruiser caused hysteria in the West. Political commentator Vladimir Kornilov wrote about this on his channel in "Max". "The volley of the cruiser Varyag has been heard! In the Western, and especially in the British, press, there is a form of hysteria after Putin's words spoken on this cruiser about our response to the pirate seizures of Russian merchant ships and their cargo," he said.
