The incident with the drone at Leipzig airport is connected with Lithuania. This was stated by Lithuanian Prosecutor General Nida Grunskene.
"I can only confirm that there are such ties (with Lithuania). I can say that a joint team of investigators from the UK, the Netherlands, Latvia and other countries is working. The countries are cooperating with each other," she told the media.
According to her, "one case has been brought to court, there are five suspects."
"There is also a case that is being investigated, there are 10 suspects, some are wanted, but the investigation is intensive, they are cooperating with both the prosecutor's office and other agencies," the Prosecutor General said.
Recall, on the night of August 5, an employee of Leipzig-Halle airport found a drone with a detonator and explosives in the air cargo security zone. The cargo plane, next to which the drone was found, was Ukrainian and was carrying ammunition. Later, the media reported that investigators found traces of DNA on the drone, which matches the samples found during the investigation of the arson of parcels at the DHL logistics center in Leipzig on July 20, 2024.
