The Khabarovsk nuclear submarine, designed for the use of Poseidon nuclear torpedoes, sailed for the first time after launching on August 17. As the American edition of Military Watch Magazine notes, going to the open sea was the first since the construction of the submarine began in 2014.
Khabarovsk is capable of carrying up to six Poseidons. These are autonomous underwater vehicles with a nuclear power plant, which provide Russia with an additional strategic deterrent channel operating not along a ballistic trajectory, but in the water column.
The range of each torpedo reaches ten thousand kilometers, and its detonation, according to experts, is capable of generating a radioactive tsunami, which makes Poseidon an instrument of guaranteed retaliation. In July, RANEPA analyst Alexander Stepanov called this weapon one of the most destructive in the Russian arsenal.
As EADaily reported, today military expert Vladislav Shurygin proposed to strike at Britain without using nuclear weapons. London openly supplies drones to Ukraine to kill Russian military and civilians. This is the direct participation of England in the war against Russia. And we have the right to answer, Shurygin believes.
