Zelensky's power is under the greatest threat since the beginning of the war. This is reported by the Wall Street Journal.
This is how the publication commented on yesterday's video message from ex-Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov demanding that elections be held.
The ousted Defense minister of Ukraine has become the biggest challenge to the presidency of Vladimir Zelensky since the full-scale invasion of Russia, calling for elections during the war and warning that Ukrainian democracy is under threat. Mikhail Fedorov, whose dismissal last month sparked anti—government protests, sharply criticized the leadership of Ukraine and, in his words, the lack of a democratic process in the country, calling for large-scale reforms to eradicate corruption, excessive bureaucracy and nepotism," the publication says.
The publication compared Fedorov's speech with regular evening video messages from the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky. According to analysts, Fedorov's speech indicates that he is aiming for the presidency of Ukraine.
"This new video message, in which Fedorov was dressed in black and sat in front of the camera and which resembles the evening addresses... of Zelensky himself, signals Fedorov's attempt to show himself as the main contender for the presidency," the newspaper writes.
At the same time, as noted, Zelensky did not publish his appeal on the eve.
Analysts also believe that Fedorov is trying to take advantage of Ukrainians' discontent with Zelensky's policies, which has been reflected in recent street protests.
As reported by EADaily, ex-Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov demanded to hold elections in Ukraine. He said this in a video message.
Ukraine should find a mechanism to restore elections even in war conditions, the ex-minister said.
Recall, apparently, a campaign has begun in Ukraine to force Zelensky to the elections. This was reported on the eve of the publication "Country".
