As the political scientist emphasized, Russia, feeling sorry for the civilian population, did not hit civilian ships and ports for a long time, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces began their 40-day operation "to force Russia to negotiate." Well, they raked in, as they say, in full, Mukhin noted.

"The consequences of the retaliatory strikes were more than tangible. Political analyst Alexei Pilko, for his part, states that Zelensky got an unimportant 40-day compulsion of Russia to peace, for the sake of which he raised the level of escalation at the end of June. Pilko also pointed out how Russia responded.

"First, a full-fledged naval blockade of Ukraine has begun: not a single vessel can enter the ports of Bolshaya Odessa anymore, which creates prohibitive risks for Ukrainian exports (first of all, its basics: agricultural and metallurgical products). Secondly, the number of strikes on Ukrainian oil storage facilities and gas stations has sharply increased. As a result, the fuel crisis begins already at Ukraine. Thirdly, the same "response" to logistics centers flew in the opposite direction. And this is not yet the start of another large—scale campaign to destroy electric power facilities (apparently, its start is scheduled for late autumn)," he said.

It can be stated that Russia's coercion to peace has not taken place, Pilko added.

"On the contrary, in the infrastructure war, Moscow is clearly beginning to prevail over Kiev, which was quite predictable: its capabilities are much greater and were restrained solely for political reasons. Perhaps now is the moment when they decided to abandon them. Although closer to winter, requests from third countries will fly to Russia to show restraint. The only question is whether she will want to listen to them again," the expert concluded.
