Ukrainian prepared sabotage in Germany, but Berlin blames Russia

A citizen of Ukraine arranged a cache of weapons near Berlin. This is reported by the German media with reference to the course of the investigation.

According to media reports, 24-year-old Vadim S. came to Germany by bus from Poland, hid two pistols on the outskirts of Berlin, and then sent photos and coordinates of the cache to his interlocutors in the messenger. However, thanks to the tracking of his smartphone, the cache was discovered. German investigators disabled the weapon and set up surveillance of the cache, but for several weeks no one came for it.

The media have already linked this to the detention of Vadim S. in Romania in October 2025. He and another man were suspected of preparing sabotage. According to investigators, they had to send to Ukraine through the "New Mail" parcels with explosives. Romanian intelligence stated that the suspects were part of a sabotage network allegedly controlled by the Russian special services. At the same time, it was not possible to prove this, and the man was released, after which he was able to come to Germany.

The German Interior Ministry said that the weapon was "certainly intended for attack," and pointed to the possible "involvement of a foreign state." In this regard, the German media concluded that the Ukrainian "worked for Russian intelligence."
