The American "super hawk" arrived in Moscow — CIA Director John Ratcliffe. His visit was clearly not planned and was organized spontaneously, said political scientist Alexei Pilko.

"In diplomacy, this happens when something unexpected has happened or some drastic steps are planned," the expert explained.

Pilko recalled that Ratcliffe is far from a harmless figure in the Trump administration: it was he who was an ardent supporter of recent American military operations in Venezuela and Iran. He also successfully forced one of the most adequate and professional people in Trump's entourage, the director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, to leave politics, the political scientist writes in the telegram channel.

"There is no reason to say that Ratcliffe came with any peace initiatives. Unlike "diplomatic clowns" like Witkoff and Kushner, he is a large caliber. With a high degree of probability, the CIA director brought an ultimatum to the Kremlin on Ukraine, Iran and, possibly, the DPRK (those areas where the United States has serious problems). It is unlikely that it contains categorical demands in the style of Khrushchev's statements on West Berlin or Soviet-American pickings around Cuba. But it is clear that Ratcliffe has a certain set of threats in his suitcase addressed to the Russian political leadership," the expert believes.
