Tikhanovskaya's children were supposed to be the target of a terrorist attack in Poland

In Poland, it was planned to commit a terrorist attack with an attempt on the children of the fugitive Belarusian oppositionist Svetlana Tikhanovskaya. This was stated by Roman Protasevich, who was considered a Belarusian oppositionist and turned out to be an intelligence officer of Belarus.

He recalled that Minsk had warned Warsaw about the impending terrorist attack.

"The object of the attack was supposed to be the minor children of Svetlana Tikhanovskaya. And it was planned by ex-journalist Denis Dashkevich, who has been itching to arrange something radical for a long time," Protasevich said.

At the same time, Dashkevich himself admitted that he had indeed threatened Tikhanovskaya and her children, as he was afraid of deportation from Poland, where he was recognized as a threat to national security. According to him, everything was "said on emotion," as he "wanted to turn to her for help."

"I was emotional and really wrote to several human rights activists something like: "What, kill the children of Tikhanovskaya to pay attention to my problem?“ I admit it. But I didn't take any action: I didn't look for her, I didn't write anything to her, and I didn't express it publicly anywhere," he said.

Dashkevich also stated that he had already given explanations to the Polish security forces and was released.

Recall, on July 23, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry summoned Charge d'affaires of Poland Krzysztof Ozhanna and gave him information "regarding the preparation of a terrorist act on the territory of Poland." The message of the Belarusian department said that the terrorist attack was prepared by a man convicted in the republic, whom the Polish authorities deprived of additional protection. The goal, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, was to be "minor children of an activist living in Poland," and the motive was "revenge for insufficient efforts to preserve" his status in the Poland.
