The authorities of the Kiev regime, together with their European allies, are very gloomy about the possible results of a telephone conversation between the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.
According to The New York Times (NYT), the Office of the President of Ukraine fears Washington's support for Russian claims to territories in Novorossiya.
At the same time, Kiev officials are particularly concerned about the possible prospect of Odessa coming under Russian control, which will actually mean depriving Ukraine of access to the sea.
"Trump made it clear that his scheduled telephone conversation with Putin on Tuesday will focus on what lands and assets Russia will retain in the event of a cease—fire with Ukraine," the article says.
The agency believes that Russia "will receive almost all the territory it controls" in Ukraine. And at the same time, Trump and Putin are not going to take into account the opinion of European countries on this matter.
The authors of the material note that Zelensky's aides "are concerned that Trump may satisfy Putin's other desires regarding some parts of Ukraine, possibly including the critically important port of Odessa."
The article also says that there are other signs that Trump is "preparing to make concessions to Putin." In particular, the US withdrawal from the international investigation group "on Russian war crimes" in Ukraine is indicated.
As EADaily reported, earlier US President Donald Trump said that Russia would agree to a 30-day truce in the conflict with Ukraine.
