Shock in China: social networks were shocked by the appearance of a Chinese child with a Russian great-great-grandfather

Photos of a Chinese family appeared on social networks — a blonde and blue-eyed daughter was born to Chinese parents. In the Chinese segment of social networks, the family story has gained more than 120 million views, according to the South China Morning Post portal.

The girl was born in May 2022, the parents of the spcst for some time even thought about the possible replacement of the baby in the hospital. However, several DNA tests have confirmed that this is indeed the child of a Chinese couple. The girl was named Guojiang, which means "jam".

Studying the genetic heritage of the family, the parents found out that the girl's paternal great-great-grandfather was Russian. This great-great-grandfather married a woman from Henan Province in central China and lived in China until his death in 1985.

Initially, Guojiang looked like a typical Chinese baby, but the features of her appearance began to manifest themselves by eight months, when her eyes turned blue.

By her first birthday, her Caucasian features became even more pronounced: her hair became light and curly, her eyelashes lengthened, and her blue eyes became brighter.

"When we go outside with her, many people are curious and often ask why she looks like a foreigner. Sometimes we get tired of explaining it many times to strangers," the girl's father admitted.

Users of social networks are surprised and compare the situation with an incredible lottery win, but many note that the girl is still very similar to her parents.
