The European Union should deal with China as an accomplice of Russia. This was announced by Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna.
"We need to focus on what Europe can do. We need to increase the pressure on Russia. We need to prepare the 20th package of sanctions. Just like Finland and Sweden, we have proposed to the Commission to impose duties on imports of goods from Russia and Belarus in the European Union. And this is the way to strengthen our positions. Today we will also discuss China at the Council meeting," he said.
The minister recalled that he had recently been to China and "very clearly stated that Russian aggression against Ukraine is an existential problem for Europe as well."
"We can discuss relations between the European Union and China, but if there is an existential threat, and China is Russia's main accomplice in waging war, then first of all we need to deal with it. And this is a very clear message," Tsakhkna threatened.
