Atyrau Oil Refinery (ANPZ) is on fire in Kazakhstan. This is reported by tengrinews.kz .
According to the press service of ANPZ LLP, the fire broke out at 12.35 local time (10.35 Moscow time) at the precipitator of closed-type mechanical treatment facilities. At the time of the incident, no work was being carried out at the facility.
"The oil sludge inside the precipitator is burning. Work on the localization and elimination of the fire continues. There are no casualties. The plant continues to operate normally, " the information says.
Atyrau Oil Refinery, located in the west of Kazakhstan, is one of the three refineries of the republic. The enterprise was built during the Great Patriotic War and put into operation in 1945. 99% of the plant's shares belong to JSC NC KazMunayGas.
The design capacity of the enterprise is 5.5 million tons of oil per year.
