End Times: Biblical Doomsday prophecies have come to life in the Middle East

The waters of the Persian Gulf turned blood-red, as predicted by the biblical Doomsday prophecies. This is reported by the British Daily Mail.

Viral videos from the island of Hormuz on Tuesday captured the moment when torrential rain along the coast turned a deep reddish hue, flowed down the cliffs, flooded the ocean and transformed seawater. This phenomenon was eerily reminiscent of similar depictions of "blood rain", or red water, in the Bible, which have historically been interpreted as signs of the End of time. The first of the ten plagues that God inflicted on the Egyptians in the biblical account of the Exodus began with the fact that the Nile River became blood," the publication says.

It is noted that in apocalyptic prophecies in The Book of Revelation, the last part of the New Testament in the Bible, also described how the seas and rivers change color and become blood-red.

However, despite the connection with the prophecies of the End of time, the red waters on the Iranian Hormuz are associated with iron-rich soil. During heavy rains, water interacts with iron oxide, which makes it red. This runoff effect is regularly observed during heavy downpours.

"The island of Hormuz itself was not mentioned directly in the Bible, but the wider region of Ancient Persia, now modern Iran, was often mentioned in Scripture. The key mention of this region of the Ancient World is contained in Revelation 16:12, when the sixth cup of wrath is poured out on the Euphrates River, which is located on the opposite side of the Persian Gulf about 500 miles from the island of Hormuz. The prophecy of the End of Time said that this event would dry up the Euphrates, "so that the way of the kings from the east would be prepared." This led to the gathering of the kings for the Battle of Armageddon in Revelation 16:16," the publication writes.

It is noted that Hormuz is not the only place in the Middle East where the water has turned red in recent months. In August, the biblical Sea of Galilee in Israel turned bright blood-red, leading locals to shock and causing talk of a "bad omen." However, according to the Ministry of Environment, the reason for the transformation was the flowering of green algae Botryococcus braunii, which turn red when the natural pigment accumulates under bright sunlight. The pigment is harmless, as is bathing water.
