Political scientist Marat Bashirov suggested why US President Donald Trump's special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner flies together to Moscow and Kiev.
"It feels like Kushner and Witkoff are flying in pairs, because they represent two forces that do not trust each other in the search for peace on the Ukraine. I will assume that Witkoff is from the old American elites, and Kushner is from Israel and Israeli business in the United States. And Trump is just a screen. They say that both are from Trump, but something is wrong here. Initially, Witkoff worked alone. There was also General Kellogg, but he was thrown off the wagon train so as not to get in the way," Bashirov writes in the telegram channel.
EADaily reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks in the Kremlin on September 5 with envoys of the American leader Steven Witkoff and By Jared Kushner. The motorcade with them left the Kremlin and has already arrived in Vnukovo. After Moscow, they are going on a visit to Kiev.
Apart from the phrases of politeness exchanged by the parties, nothing is known about the results of the negotiations. The Russian President promised to do everything to ensure the safety of the peace talks and the mediators who take part in them.
On the eve of Trump said that his envoys during a visit to Moscow will present a proposal to end the conflict on Ukraine. However, he did not disclose the details of the initiative.
