Russian warships are on combat drill in Mediterranean Sea

Russian Black Sea warships, Admiral Grigorovich and Admiral Essen frigates, Pytlivy and Smetlivy escort vessels are on a combat drill in the Mediterranean Sea, the Russian defense ministry informs.

As they say at the ministry, during the drill, the warships are to practice the procedure of naval battle. In particular, the frigates trained to attack the escort vessels, while the latter were to practice joint repelling of the attack of the opposing force. After that, the combat-crew personnel trained the scheme of missile bombardment of shore-based targets.

Besides the crews are trained how to survive and render assistance to a warship that was damaged in combat operations. After the drill the ships are to continue fulfilling their task as planned by the commandment of the Russian Naval Force in the Far Operations Area.
