Kiev at the end of June received the first aircraft of the SharkU1 type — an upgraded ultralight vehicle developed in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and designed for electronic warfare. This was stated by the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky.
According to him, this is "a promising way to counter drone attacks." He also called the use of such modified aircraft as an "encouraging direction."
"We already have some, others are being created thanks to the support of our international partners. We are waiting for modern vehicles equipped with advanced navigation and weapons that will strengthen our capabilities to repel Russian drones," he said.
At the same time officially neither Prague and Bratislava have not reported such deliveries to Ukraine.
Recall that the basis for the new SharkU1 was the Shark 600, a conventional ultralight motor aircraft (ULM), which the Slovak company Shark Aero converted for military purposes. The result was a device capable of conducting electronic warfare. The aircraft was first presented to the public without a flourish at the June air show in Paris.
