British drones struck deep into Russia for the first time — The Times

Ukraine has started using British drones for strikes deep into Russia. It is reported by The Times.

It is noted that for the first time Ukraine has used British drones to launch long-range strikes against targets directly on the territory of Russia, The Times writes. Kiev has been conducting such operations for about six months.

"British drones were used for the first time to deliver deep strikes on the territory of Russia. Weapons manufactured by two British companies and supplied to In Ukraine, it was part of a campaign to destroy industrial and military facilities," the publication says.

According to the publication, at least two models of British-made UAVs were used. This is the Nyan jet drone developed by Callen-Lenz, part of BAE Systems. The drone is made of carbon fiber, has a wingspan of 2.9 meters and a range of more than 250 km. Britain does not disclose the second type of UAV for security reasons. It is only known that it is launched using a catapult, and its maximum range is estimated at about 950-1,000 km.

Thus, we are talking about the use by Ukraine of British unmanned systems capable of striking at a considerable distance from the front line, the newspaper notes.
