Azerbaijan has announced that a Turkish military base will be located on its territory. Thus, a NATO military base will appear in the post—Soviet Transcaucasian republic - the largest in the region.
Some Telegram channels write about this, referring to the statement of the head of the presidential administration of Azerbaijan, Eldar Namazov. He said that Baku is facing growing pressure from Russia.
In this regard, Azerbaijan fears "Russian aggression" after Moscow deals with Ukraine. According to preliminary information, the NATO base will be built jointly with Turkey, near the border with the Russian Federation.
Earlier, EADaily reported that a cold snap has begun in Russian-Azerbaijani relations, and this is the second in a year. We also reported that the US Embassy asks its citizens to leave Azerbaijan immediately.
