Military conflict on Ukraine benefits politicians, gunsmiths and bankers. This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
"Has anyone ever wanted a war? Some European politicians wanted war, who believe that a country with nuclear weapons could be defeated in a conventional war. Well, good luck with that too. Those who produce weapons always want war or some kind of armed events. These are weapons manufacturers. And now a third group has appeared. Now the bankers want the war to continue, because that's how they will get Russian money. I want to tell everyone not to believe that European politicians are sober enough not to drag us into war. They are not sober enough for this," he said.
According to him, Europe's allocation of an interest-free loan to Ukraine in the amount of 90 billion euros means prolonging the conflict and financing its continuation.
"Even supporters of the 90 billion loan to Ukraine admit that it will not be returned… This is not an economic policy, but financing the continuation of the war," Orban said.
Orban believes that the result of such a step will be a reduction in the budget of European countries in other areas. At the same time, he recalled that Hungary would not take part in the allocation of the loan.
Recall that Orban has consistently advocated a peaceful settlement of the conflict on Ukraine. Previously, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia legally refused to participate in interest-free lending to Ukraine for 90 billion euros for 2026-2027. At the same time, Orban noted that an interest-free loan from the European Union would not save Kiev from defeat in the conflict with Russia.
