The new supreme leader of Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei, may be in a coma. It is reported by The Sun newspaper, citing sources.
According to sources, the 56-year-old son of Ali Khamenei, who died during the attack on Tehran, was seriously injured. It is alleged that he lost at least one leg and suffered serious damage to his stomach or liver. It is not yet clear when Mojtaba Khamenei was wounded — possibly on February 28, the same day his 86-year-old father died.
"He had one or two legs amputated. He also suffered a rupture of the liver or stomach. Apparently, he is in a coma," the source said.
It is noted that Mojtaba Khamenei has not appeared in public for many days, and even at the proclamation ceremony of the new supreme leader, his cardboard image was presented to the public instead.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed that Khamenei was injured, but noted that he "feels well," writes Bild.
Meanwhile, Iranian media are publishing photos of Mojtaba Khamenei, who appears to be in good health.
In addition, today Mojtaba Khomeini addressed the nation for the first time, reports ParsToday Russian.
