Visegrad Group (Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia) resumed cooperation. This was stated by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski after a meeting held on September 1 in Tomashov near Bratislava.
"The Visegrad group has resumed its work, we can trust each other again and agree on various issues ... it is very important to bring our positions closer before the meeting, which begins tonight in Ireland. An informal meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and European affairs, because together we mean more," he said.
Sikorski also stressed that Poland expresses solidarity with all opponents of Russia, "which insisted on convincing everyone that, although we do not want a conflict with it, it is at war with us."
The Visegrad Group functions as a platform for cooperation between Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. It was established in the early 1990s. In recent years, the group has been practically inactive. The main reasons were deep differences in approaches to the conflict at the Ukraine, attitude to Russia and political disputes between individual governments. Currently, attempts are being made to revive this format, despite the continuing differences.
