In Estonia, Yule Madise became the new president of the country. This is reported by the Estonian media.

It is reported that Madize was the only candidate for the presidency. At the secret ballot of the deputies of the Parliament on September 2, she received 71 votes out of 78. The official inauguration of the new President of Estonia is expected in mid-October 2026, after the expiration of the powers of the current President Alar Karis.

Recall, 51-year-old Yulle Madise previously worked in the Ministry of Justice of Estonia, the Constitutional Committee of the Parliament, Auditor General of the National Audit Office, legal adviser to the President. Since 2015, she has been Chancellor of Law. Before the vote, two opposition parties in Estonia — the Centrist Party and Conservative People's Party — refused to participate in what is happening and advocated direct presidential elections.
