Reporter: China has become the only country that has not signed the G20 joint communique

China became the only G20 country that did not support the joint communique drawn up following the meeting of the meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors of the G20 countries in Asheville, North Carolina.

This was informed by the head of the US Treasury, Scott Bessent, in a comment to CNBC. And the text of the unanimously rejected final declaration of the G20 is published by his office.

"I was hoping that today I would be able to announce the adoption of a unanimous joint communique that would reflect the results of all the tremendous work we have done together over the past few days and throughout the year. Unfortunately, all G20 members, with the exception of one, could not do this," the American minister complained.

It follows from his explanations that China opposed the points of the communique, which expressed concern about interruptions in shipping in The Strait of Hormuz.

Beijing also disagreed with the statement that "a non-market economy that constantly generates cheap export products is not sustainable."

As EADaily reported earlier, Scott Bessent said that the United States is conducting non-public consultations with Russia and China on compliance with secondary sanctions as part of a new operation to put economic pressure on Iran.
