In Germany, the cost of Super E10 gasoline has reached an all-time high. This is reported by the General German Automobile Club (ADAC).
It is reported that the average price per liter across the country has risen to 2,215 euros, exceeding the previous record of 2,203 euros set in March 2022. It is noted that this is far from the limit, and taking into account inflation, gasoline was more expensive in 2012.
Germany believes that one of the key reasons for the price jump is a new escalation of the conflict between Iran and the United States. In addition, the low water level in the Rhine has an impact on the increase in the cost of transporting fuel. At the same time, German experts forget about Berlin's decision to break off relations with Russia and support Kiev's strikes on energy facilities in the Russian Federation, which led to a sharp reduction in the supply of fuel on world markets.
Recall, high fuel prices forced the German authorities to look for funds. to prevent social discontent. So, from the beginning of May to the end of June, there was a discount on fuel in the amount of 16.7 cents per liter, which, according to the Ministry of Finance, cost the federal government about 1.6 billion euros. Today, the country's authorities reject the possibility of reintroducing the discount, as public finances are in the red due to an investment package financed by borrowed funds.
