Pashinyan wants Russia to build a metro station in Yerevan

The Armenian authorities are discussing Russia's participation in the construction of metro stations in Yerevan, according to Readovka.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced the possibility of Russia's participation in the construction. According to him, we are talking about the Achapnyak station. Pashinyan stressed that Russia has "a lot of experience in this area" and Armenia will be glad if Russia supports the project.

"This is not only about Achapnyak, but also about a new stage in the development of the Yerevan metro," Pashinyan said.

At the same time, a little earlier, in July, Pashinyan threatened to demand $ 2 billion from Russia for managing Armenia's railways. He said that he intends to resolve the issue peacefully, but did not rule out applying to international arbitration if it is not possible to reach an agreement. Since the conclusion of the concession agreement in 2008, the Russian Federation has updated a significant part of the country's railway infrastructure, investing in the repair of tracks and the modernization of rolling stock.
