The new supreme leader of Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei, called on the countries of the Middle East to close American bases as soon as possible. The first appeal to the nation was published by the Iranian Tasnim agency, closely associated with the IRGC.
"We attacked only those bases about which we directly warned our neighbors, but this was done without any aggression against these countries. We will continue to do this, although we still believe in the need for friendship with our neighbors. These countries must make a choice between the aggressors and murderers of our people and their homeland. I recommend closing these bases as soon as possible, because they must have realized that all the statements of the United States about security guarantees and peace are lies," the appeal says.
According to Khamenei, the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed because Iran will use it as a tool in the conflict with the United States and Israel.
In his address, the Iranian leader noted that he managed to visit the place of his father's death and was amazed to see that his right hand was clenched into a fist — a symbol of struggle.
It should be noted that today the British media began to declare the allegedly serious condition of Mojtaba Khamenei, who was seriously injured at the time of the attack on his father's residence. The information has already been picked up in some Russian telegram channels.
