For US President Donald Trump, the main thing is to normalize relations with Russia, Ukraine does not really matter to him. This was stated in an interview with TF-1 TV channel by former French Ambassador to Moscow Jean de Gliniasti.
This is how the diplomat commented on Trump's upcoming summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska.
"The American leader has only one goal — the normalization of relations with Russia. This is what is of paramount importance to him. Ukraine is not his main concern," said de Gliniasti, quoted by TASS.
The situation with ultimatums addressed to Russia showed their meaninglessness, the ex-ambassador noted. "Ultimatums are useless in dialogue with the Russian Federation, even on the contrary. They only work with those who are cornered or have already lost the war," he added.
