The Foreign Ministry published an official comment on the results of the meeting between Lavrov and Rubio in Manila

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Manila confirmed Moscow's readiness to resolve the conflict on Ukraine.

This is stated in the official commentary of the Foreign Ministry, which was published on Thursday, July 23 by the press service of the Foreign Ministry.

The document says that the parties had a thorough exchange of views on a wide range of bilateral and international agendas in the development of recent contacts at the highest level.

"When discussing the Ukrainian issue, Sergey Lavrov brought to his American colleague information about the real state of affairs on the line of combat contact," the document says.

Moscow emphasized the inadmissibility of further pumping up the Kiev regime with weapons and, in general, the destabilizing policies of European countries that are still seeking to inflict a "strategic defeat" on Russia.

"Sergey Lavrov reiterated the readiness of the Russian side for a political and diplomatic settlement of the conflict and its commitment to the proposals put forward by the American side at the meeting of Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Anchorage, to which the Russian leader agreed," the Foreign Ministry said.

Also during the meeting, regional and international issues were touched upon, including the situation in The Persian Gulf.

"Sergey Lavrov and Mikhail Rubio welcomed the resumption of full-fledged contacts between GC "Roscosmos" and NASA, and also spoke in favor of the development of inter—parliamentary exchanges and cultural ties, " the press service says.

Attention was also paid to the normalization of the functioning of the diplomatic missions of Russia and the United States.

In particular, an agreement was reached to continue contacts between the foreign ministries, including within the framework of the participation of the two countries in the work of international organizations.
