A tanker with Russian oil modified for drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was seen in the Bosphorus

The tanker under sanctions and with Russian oil passed the Bosphorus Strait. Changes were found on the ship that should protect the tanker from attacks by drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"The Suezmax Caruzo-class tanker, which is under the sanctions of the UK, the EU, New Zealand, Canada, Switzerland and Australia, passed us in In Istanbul, transporting a million barrels of Russian oil," according to the portal Tankertrackers, which tracks the sea transportation of oil around the world. He also published photos of the tanker.

Tankertrackers noted that obvious changes are visible on board the tanker.

"The crew covered the superstructure with a net and locked themselves inside, apparently due to fears of Ukrainian drone strikes," Tankertrackers continues.

But that's not all.

"The stern of the vessel also seems to have additional protection in the form of cages hanging on the sides, designed to protect the engine room from attacks by naval drones. Fear is justified," the portal writes.

According to AIS courts, the pictures could have been taken on August 11. Today the tanker was sailing along the Sea of Marmara towards the Dardanelles. The draft of the vessel at the same time was maximum.

Judging by the pictures, several dozen cages were suspended along the entire stern to prevent the unmanned boat from crashing directly into the side of the vessel and creating passive remote protection.

According to EADaily, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are attacking tankers with Russian oil in the Black Sea with both drones and unmanned boats. Kiev's attacks on civilian vessels, including on the export of Kazakh oil, have already led to the fact that the Russian army, in fact, stopped all maritime exports of Ukraine, retaliating against ports and bulk carriers.
