Singer, People's Artist of Russia Oleg Gazmanov does not plan to end his creative career after his 80th birthday. He told RIA Novosti about this.
"I will try to continue working... Why limit God?", — Gazmanov answered the corresponding question.
The performer noted that in In Russia and on the Western stage there are artists who, even in old age, successfully "work at the box office."
"We don't just perform on the city day, people buy tickets for our solo concerts, large halls fill up. This is the most important thing for me," he stressed.
According to Gazmanov, when he turned 70, he was thinking about ending his career, because for many years on stage he "owed his family too much."
"Then the pandemic started, I sat at home and thought, no, no, no. As long as it gives me pleasure, as long as people come to my concerts, spend money on tickets, want to listen to me while I write new songs, I think I will work," Gazmanov concluded.
Recall, Gazmanov turns 75 on July 22.
As EADaily reported, on July 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree awarding Gazmanov with the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree. In March 2012, the artist was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland of the IV degree, in May 2018 — the Order of Friendship.
