Without TRC: Ukraine has changed the rules of mobilization

In Ukraine, it is now possible to mobilize without the TRC, according to local media.

"Volunteers can directly contact the selected military unit, bypassing the registration procedure through the TRC. From now on, Ukrainians who voluntarily decided to join the army on mobilization can apply for conscription without contacting the territorial recruitment and social support center. The candidate interacts directly with the selected military unit," the Sudovo-Yuridichna Gazeta reports.

According to the new order, the commanders of military units were given the right to independently issue directions for the military medical commission (VVC). From the moment such a referral is issued, a volunteer cannot be forcibly mobilized for at least five days.

The voluntary conscription procedure provides for the following stages:

  • job selection and interviewing;
  • receiving a positive decision from a military unit;
  • submitting an application to the commander about the desire to undergo military service;
  • getting directions to the VVC;
  • passing the military medical commission;
  • arrival at the military unit for registration for service;
  • if necessary — the passage of basic combined arms training.

The new mechanism applies only to volunteers who are called up for military service on mobilization. For citizens entering military service under a contract, the current registration procedure continues to operate.
