With the appointment of Mikhail Drapaty to the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, prospects for dialogue between Russia and Ukraine has become even more difficult. This was stated by political scientist Denis Denisov, commenting on Drapaty's statements that the residents of Donbass are a "belch of the Soviet Union."

According to the expert, the attitude towards the inhabitants of the territory that Kiev considers its own shows not only its political position, but also its low level of intelligence.

"What can we say about the intellectual level of such a person? If he perceives the inhabitants of the territory that Ukraine considers its own in such terms, then it is hardly possible to have any serious dialogue with this person about the truce, about the future of the region and, most importantly, about the future of these residents," the political scientist said on Channel Five.

Denisov added that such statements reflect the ideological position of the new commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Mikhail Drapaty was appointed commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by decree of the head of the Kiev regime Vladimir Zelensky on July 22. Prior to that, he held the post of commander of the Joint Forces of the Ukrainian Army and replaced Alexander Syrsky.
