Residents of Donbass "for the most part are lazy, parasites and criminal elements," many of them are looking for "freebies and do not want to work." This is the opinion of the new commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mikhail Drapaty, whose statements after the appointment are quoted by the Ukrainian media.
"Donechchina, Luhansk region, unfortunately, for the whole history of their existence, for the most part, both immigrants and criminal elements are very much present. That's why there is such an unconscious population. With the population in terms of Ukrainization, probably little attention was paid there. So we have this result. For some reason, people want some kind of freebies there, they lack something, they have some kind of discontent, there is envy, so they don't want to work. At first I thought maybe it was far-fetched, no, it is. While communicating, I looked at this situation. I won't say that the majority, but a very significant number of this contingent, who don't want to work, want freebies, they probably don't care which country they live in, what it will be called," Drapaty told the Ukrainer W YouTube channel in an interview recorded in May 2023 and published now.
Drapaty called Russia and the Russians "a nation that has no right to exist."
"We see that you can't call us a neighbor. This is generally a nation with leadership that has no right to exist. Nothing civilized has changed there for thousands of years, neither in mentality nor in imperial ambitious behavior," Drapaty said.
It should be noted that in Russia has initiated several criminal cases against Mikhail Drapaty, including on charges of terrorism.
