The head of French intelligence, Nicolas Lerner, personally asked Pavel Durov to influence the presidential elections in Romania. The founder of Telegram stated this on the social network.
"This spring, in the "Battle Room" of the Hotel de Crillon, the head of French intelligence, Nicolas Lerner, asked me to block conservative votes in Romania before the elections. I refused. We did not block the protesters in Russia, Belarus or Iran — and we will not start doing it in Europe," writes Durov, quoted by Strana.
As reported by EADaily, France categorically rejected the accusations of Telegram founder Pavel Durov regarding alleged interference in the presidential elections in Romania. This is stated in the statement of the country's Foreign Ministry. They published a screenshot of Durov's post, providing it with a note: Fake.
Recall, a certain Western European government on the eve of today's presidential elections in Romania appealed to Telegram with a request to block conservative votes in the country. This was stated by the founder of the messenger Pavel Durov on his page in the social network.
He did not directly name the country, but pointed to it by publishing an image of a baguette.
