In Russia, they called the main counterweight to the American HIMARS system

A detailed video analysis of the so-called "Russian HIMARS" appeared on the Telegram channel of journalist Alexander Rogatkin. We are talking about a high-precision rocket of the multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) "Tornado-S".

Rogatkin analyzed the features of the corrected missiles 9M544 and 9M549 caliber 300 mm. Such systems are capable of carrying cassettes with cumulative fragmentation and fragmentation warheads. The latter are used to defeat infantry and armored vehicles.

High-precision ammunition "Tornado-S" is guided by GLONASS. Moreover, there are rudders in the nose of the missiles, with the participation of which the trajectory is corrected. The missiles are capable of flying up to 120 km, and up to 12 ammunition can be stored in one Tornado-S MLRS combat system.
