Washington is waiting for a Russian submarine sent to meet the tanker that changed its flag

An unnamed American official told The Wall Street Journal about the Kremlin sending a submarine and other military vessels to meet the tanker, which changed the flag of Panama to the Russian one.

RBC has sent a request for comment to the Russian Defense Ministry, but there are no official reports on this yet.

The British edition of The Times also informed about the dispatch of a US P-8 reconnaissance aircraft along with two Royal Air Force fighters to the tanker from an airfield in the UK.
